The Purslowe family has been in funeral direction for five generations. Mareena Purslowe, a fourth generation funeral director, joined the company in 1979. In 1984 Mareena commenced The Grief Recovery and Funeral Education Centre fulfilling a need in the community for support, information and education in the areas of bereavement and death. In 1989 she began Mareena Purslowe and Associates and has served Western Australian families with a special approach to funeral direction. The firm was launched as a funeral company offering a professional, innovative service with particular emphasis on individuals.
Now, years down the road, our professional reputation has been proven. Letters from thousands of grateful families attest to our special care. From the first phone call everyone is treated as an individual because a funeral should be a fitting tribute to a person's unique character. If that means live musicians to play a favourite piece of music, booking a special venue or finding the right piece of poetry, it's all part of the service.
The world is changing, and there are many options today. We are here to assist you in planning the ceremony most expressive of your love and respect. People often remark on the individuality of our funerals. It's the subtle difference that flows from our readiness to sit down and talk to families as long as it takes. Nothing is too much trouble.
We are staffed by women, yet our service is for everyone. Our attention to detail is traditional, yet each funeral we arrange is designed for the individual.
