Dear Rove and families concerned,
I am saddened to read of the passing of your beautiful wife, Belinda. What a fighter. I am feeling guilty at the moment as I have survived cancer twice - breast cancer 12 years ago and cervical cancer 6 years ago. If only Belinda had been as lucky as I have been. I have followed her fight with chemotherapy closely as I have had chemo myself. She showed so much courage and strength and really touched my heart as I know how tough it is. Always a smile, always a lady. Rest peacefully dear Belinda and lots of love to you Rove. Take care.

Although I never had the fortune of meeting Belinda personally, as I watched her on TV or saw her pictures, her demeanour showed me she was not only a outwardly gorgeous woman but her sincerity and wonderful down to earth nature shown through. How sad you must be, it’s so unfair, I can’t imagine how you must feel, robbed, this shouldn’t have happened.May Belinda have the eternal peace she deserves, and I hope one day you all can move on with your lives, I never knew her and just looking in the papers seeing her lovely face brought me to tears, she didn’t deserve to die that way, nobody does, I don’t know what to say, god be with you all and I'm sure your beautiful Belle is watching you all, have a good life for her, be your best, Belinda deserves it.

Dear Rove & family,
I was fortunate to meet Belinda in Darwin, a few years ago, when she came up to run in the torch relay. At that time I was working for Channel 7 in Darwin and it was my duty to take her from the hotel to the airport. Upon first meeting her in the hotel lobby I was struck by her down to earth nature and genuine friendliness. She certainly didn't have that 'celebrity' way about her and I felt that I was greeting an old friend. She didn't grumble when she had to sit in my little Ford Festiva car (no limo!) and we chatted easily on the journey. She mentioned that she had recently begun dating Rove (whom she spoke of very fondly indeed). She sounded very happy with her life and was quite humble about her beginnings in 'showbiz', commenting that it was 'just luck' she had made it to the top. On reflection, I don't think it was luck at all. She was gifted and passionate and obviously a wonderful young woman. It was a pleasure to meet her that day in Darwin, I have never forgotten it, and as she stepped from my car I was sad to see her leave. My condolences to you Rove and all of Belinda's friends and family. You are in my thoughts.
