Belinda Emmett

How truly saddened I am to learn of the passing of Belinda. Her courageous fight against such a monster was dealt with such dignity. Often my family and I would talk of her and wonder how her battle was going, I too lost someone so very dear to me to bone cancer - my dad. Having watched and experienced someone so dear suffer in a way that they do not deserve is heart wrenching, in fact words cannot express. Someone, somewhere has gained a beautiful angel in your "Belinda" and unfortunately this world we live in has suffered a tremendous loss. I hope like myself throughout your grief that you will find comfort in knowing this beautiful young lady we all loved is in a better place now and is resting in peace. Our thoughts are with you all throughout this harrowing time. xxxx

Belinda touched us in a special way, she visited Mudgee and shared her smile all around. A golden nugget, a special angel. We will miss her and know that her passing will be hard to bear! Her journey was cut short, we can only wonder why! I had no idea how sick poor Belinda was. I was so shocked when I heard. She was so brave and courageous and was always such a strong person. Belinda was such a beautiful and strong woman who lit up any room she entered. The love between her and Rove was like a beautiful fairytale for it shone through whenever you seen them together. Their journey together, though short, inspirational and so real! My heart aches for Rove, and Belinda’s and Rove’s family and friends because she was a blessing even to those of us who did not know her personally so i can only imagine the hurt they are feeling. Dear Rove and the Emmett Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Belinda’s passing. She was truly an inspiration in our family, especially to my mother who was hit with breast cancer at the age of 39 years of age. Mum is now 56 and still fitting the disease. I saw Belinda at Melbourne Central in 1999 a year after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. I did so want to go up to her and tell her that she is such an inspiration to all women, but I didn’t. I felt that she had gone through so much that I guess I didn’t want to bother her.

She will always be remembered and you will always have precious memories of her, she was a remarkable person. Rest in peace, precious angel.
