We'll miss you Pop Watt
Alexander James Watt lived an eventful life. He married Laurie (Ida Laurine) in 1930, and they enjoyed 56 years of married life. Originally they settled in Earlwood, later moving to Blakehurst and finally settling in Lilli Pilli. He survived 2 major strokes, but finally succumbed to heart failure.
Alec, as he was known to friends, established James Watt Engineering which grew to become a huge national company. He was highly regarded by his friends, family, employees and acquaintances, and well known for his generosity and kind gentle approach.
He will be missed by his children, Max and Marlene, his son-in-law Warren and daughter-in-law Golda.
Pop Watt had 7 grandchildren, Kerry, Janelle, Nerida, Lisa, Robert, Megan, and Christopher - he had his own special nicknames for us all.
Pop Watt had the opportunity to know and love 3 of his great-granchildren - Andrew, Beth and Ben, but Jarrod, Becky, Jessica, Natalie, Nikki and James never had the privilege of knowing this great man. One day they will.
Please don't stand at my grave and cry
My soul's not there, it did not die
It is the wind that cools you down
It is the rain that makes you frown
It is the sun that melts the snow
It is the fire which makes a glow
I know you're sad 'cause I'm not there
I know sometimes it's hard to bear
But understand that deep inside
As long as you want, I will reside
And as you face each lovely day
With you I'll walk and proudly say
It is impossible to die
When with such as you
My memories lie.
