A DEAR FRIEND TO ALL....................
DENNIS passed away at Wyong Hospital on Thursday 9th November 2006 at the age of 82yrs young. He was late of Hamlyn Terrace on The Central Coast but originally from Highley, Shropshire, England.
DENNIS Norman was born at home on 28th April 1924 to Thomas and Annie (nee Davies) in a small village called Bayston Hill near Shrewsbury, next door to the local pub The Three Fishes. Needless to say, the pub became a favourite meeting place for DENNIS in his early years!
DENNIS joined the Army, serving in Japan and West Africa. Whilst home on leave he met his sweetheart Winifred (nee George). Most of their courting was done by letter until he decided to leave the force and married Win. They had two children Janet and Alison.
Both daughters flew the nest fairly early on, Jan joined the RAF completing 22yrs service before moving with her husband to live in Australia. Alison left home to work in Canada, where she now lives with her husband and family after having been there for over 30 years. Having said that, DENNIS and Win took advantage of these two wonderful places and paid numerous visits to their daughters. In 2002 DENNIS and Win made the big decision to sell up and move "Down Under" to join their daughter and son in law Jan and Michael.
Sadly, after 4 very full and happy years in Australia, DENNIS succumbed to his illness. He was a loving husband to Win and proud father and father in law to Jan and Michael, Ali and Greg, and dear "angrad" to his grandchildren Luke and Ben.
A dear friend and much loved by all who knew him..............
