Hendrik's Funeral Service will be officiated by Celebrant Diana Johnston.

Hendrik passed away peacefully at Royal North Shore Hospital on Thursday October 8, 2009, at the age of 88 years, with his family at his side. He was late of Umina Beach.

Hendrik Willem Vanderstraaten was born on May 7, 1921 in Bandung, Indonesia to Cornelius and Saoni Vanderstraaten. At the age of 24 years Hendrik married his first wife Dorothy Keane in Perth. They were blessed with 5 children. Sadly Dorothy died, however Hendrik met his new bride and at the age of 76 years, they were married at Woy Woy.

Hendrik was a devoted husband, much loved father and father in law and proud grandfather to their families. He will be very sadly missed by his children Richard, Jeanne, Phillip, Jeffrey, Gail and by all their families and his friends.
