Obituary
John passed away peacefully at Hammond Care Nursing Home , Erina on Friday February 19, 2010 at the age of 84 years. He was late of Avoca Beach.
John Richard Gilkes was born on December 5, 1925 in Sydney to Charles and Ray (nee Duddleston) Gilkes from Longueville. At the age of 26 years, John married Nerolie Aspinall in Sydney. They were blessed with two daughters and a son.
John was a dearly loved husband of Nerolie and a loving father to Penelope, Elizabeth and Peter and father in law of Stephen. A loving and proud grandfather of Pippa and Madeline, much loved brother of Ken, Betty, Judith, Bill, Robert, Anne and Brian, John will be very sadly missed by all his loving family and many friends.
