A COUNTRY LASS....
MONICA passed away peacefully on Sunday 29th October 2006 at Reynold's Court Hostel which had been her home for a couple of years. She was 94yrs young.
MONICA, christened Monica Theresa, was born at Maclean NSW on the 14th September 1912 to George and Theresa (nee Kempnich) Grainger. She was one of 13 children. MONICA was very proud of her father who became the Mayor of Maclean.
At the age of 22yrs, MONICA married her sweetheart Tom Edward Wilson at Lavender Bay. They had two children, Thomas and Barbara. Unfortunately Thomas died but at the age of 43yrs, she met Robert Jones or Bobby as she called him. After Bobby's death, MONICA enjoyed 25 years living with her dear sister Nell and her husband Ray at Kulnura.
MONICA was a much loved mother to Tom and his wife Lorraine and to her daughter Barbara who lives in Canada. She was a dear grandmother to Craig (deceased), Bobby, Tanya, Chris and Brett and great grandmother to Athena, Christine and Augustus. MONICA will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters, Nell, Doreen, Frank and Tony, and by all who knew and loved her.
