Dear family,
I want to express my heartfelt sympathy with the
loss of your husband, your father and grandfather.
It's a hard feeling to lose a person you love.
Ans told me a week ago, that Rein was in hospital and very sick.
He had troubles with his health for many years and that isn't
easy to handle. Not for him and neither for all of you.
Although I have heard also nice stories about fishing
and family meetings, that he liked very much.
Australia is very far away, but I want to let you know,
I'll be with you in my heart.
Not only these days, but also in the future.
I'll try to translate a poem, which means a lot to me.
It can help to accept the knowledge, that there won't be any
more sharings with Rein, but a lot of memories.
Everything, you really love
Will give you warmth constantly
Although it's not remained as you wish
It will always be a part of you
Cherished parts of your life.
With love, Lia

Dear Joan, children and grandchildren,
we condole you with all our heart. We have still very warm and good memories
of visits in Holland and our stay in Perth (2000), we had a lot of fun with Reinier.
The last time we phoned him, he told us how ill he was
and that he knows that he had not much time to live.
We are glad that Reinier died very quiet, we hope that that will comfort you.
We wish you all the strength you need to get on with your lives.
Warm greetings from John ( baby brother) and Adri.

Dear Joan and Children
Rein will always be in our memory as our beloved brother and brother in law.
Despite the physical distance we are with you in these difficult days.
We hope that your sorrow (and ours) will soon be
softened by all the good memories he has left behind.
Love of the whole family from Holland, especially from
Flip, Piet, Nel en Ans
