A Memorial Service for Sidney will be held at St John's Church in Reid on Monday, 14th April, 2010, at 12.00 p.m.

11th November 1915 ~ 25th March 2010.
Died peacefully at home,
loved husband of Rosalie.
Remembered with Love and respect by
his children, Martin, Toss and Hester,
daughters-in-law Mary and Lyn,
and grandchildren Charles, Thom and Hester.

I'm very sad to hear of Ben's passing, he made great contributions to my field of optical design, and was a lifelong friend of my mentor in optics, Norman Rumsey. Around here (Steward Observatory, and NOAO, Arizona) there are many of the older generation who knew and respected Ben for his work and have fond memories of him as a person.
