Yep, he'll never be replaced and my (read our, Fran & myself) sympathy and offer of continued support, to be tapped as necessary.

He was such a lovely man, so very much respected and admired by his family and friends and I know the world has lost a truly unique and admirable soul. Dear Jeremy, Aurelia and family
My heart is with you and your family and this time of loss of a dear family member. It is a complicated tradgedy and understandably makes the grief process and sharing with others difficult.
Please let me know if ther is any way I can provide support.

I was very sad to learn today about Lal's passing away. He was my mentor and friend many years ago at the Standards Association of Australia, where he was a driving force behind the development of the standards that are still used every day by every Australian when using ATMs or EFTPOS. I hold him in great regard.
My sincere condolences to Carmen and his daughters.

I was very fortunate to have worked with Lal for a number of years at St George Bank. He was one of the kindest, most generous and calmest people I have ever met. Always willing to assist, mentor and give advice to anyone he met and with such a wicked sense of humour and razor sharp wit. Lal you are gone way too soon, and I think of you often. You were one of natures true gentlemen and I learnt so much from you. If I can be just a little like you I will make a big difference in this world. We hadn't seen each other for a while, but I will miss you greatly.
To Carmen and Lal's family, I hope you are all well and that time is helping you, although I know you will feel his loss for a long time. My thoughts are with you all still.
Rest In Peace Lal.
