Obituary
Jim passed away peacefully at Royal North Shore Hospital on Sunday March 1, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Although late of Kempsey, he lived for many years at Mulgoa.
William James Thompson was born on September 9, 1927 in Bangor, Northern Ireland to William and Mariha (nee Mulholland) Thompson. At the age of 27 years, Jim married the love of his life Verenna Barclay in Bangor Northern Ireland. In 1960 Jim and Verenna along with their three sons, William, Gary and Noel, made the long trip to their new home in Australia. Once settled into their new life they had a fourth son Glenn.
Jim was a much loved husband to Verenna and a dear father and father in law to Jim (deceased) and Christine, Gary and Kathy, Noel (deceased), Glenn and Marcelle. He was a very proud grandpa to Jenny, Nicole, Linda, Lisa, Leah and Jessica. Jim will be very sadly missed by all his family and friends here in Australia and Northern Ireland.
Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to greet you, may all your days be bright
May love walk at your side by day, and keep you warm at night
May all who pass upon your way be glad to call you friend
And may the road rise up to greet you, and bring you home again.
May you always find an easy mind when you lie down to rest
And when you wake with morning's light, may each day be your best.
May all the joys you dream at night rise up with you each day
And may the wind be at your back as you set out on your way.

Dear grandpa,
No words can express how much i am going to miss you. You were always a tough old bugger which we adored! You had a great happy smile which always made me smile. You were such a generous person to all of us grand kids and we cant thank you enough for it. Holidays up in Kempsey were always the best ( especially desert, icecream with milo and flake and sugar sprinkled oranges yumm yumm every night) we always loved you coming down to visit us soon and hated we could never get you to stay long enough..... but you couldnt go being a nuisance now could you! its really not going to be the same without you around at all the special occasions (I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIVE FOREVER) but I hope you are in a happy comfortable place now with grandma, uncle jim and uncle noel all with you.
RIP grandpa, love you always and miss you forever XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
